I’m an engineer and a writer. I work at GitBook, where we make documentation that AI agents can read and change the same way a person would. Before that I ran services that answered millions of requests a second, which is where I learned most of what I know.

What I care about is software that still works after the people who built it have gone. I read a lot more than I ship, and I write down anything worth keeping. Most days start with a run. I’ve done it in enough cities to know the habit travels better than I do.
